SCREEN VERSION
Version>02 is presenting a film and video festival featuring works by independent film makers, artists, video activists, and net cinematicians. Over the course of three days the MCA Theatre will feature at least nine film and video programs of shorts, documentaries and features. The Version Lab will also run additional programs concurrent with the Version>02 Film Festival MCA Theatre schedule.
Programs include:
The Aesthetic Underground: Digital animation and video shorts by Katsura Moshino (Nobukazu Takemura) , Run Wrake, Lobo, Dave Reynolds, and more.
We Interrupt this Broadcast: Radical and Subversive films : Doug Lussenhop, GNN, Cell Media, Animal charm, Dave Foss and others.
Interventions in the Public Sphere: Works that use primarily digital technology to critique society or advance social change.
Cultures of Resistance: pieces that deal with the politics of marginalized urban culture.
Feature films: TBA.
Schedule to be released in April, 2002.
Submission: Read the Call for Ideas and send your project to reviewed for inclusion. Version>02 will showcase work from all genres (including live action, animation or any combination in between, narrative, documentary, experimental and/or design-oriented). Entries can be shot or created in any format (film, analog/digital video, animation etc.)
